Feedback Questionnaire Report

 

This document provides feedback on this year's ICBP compiled from the 31 questionnaires that were collected. The Annex provides charts compiling the results of the main questions included in the questionnaire.

  • 42% of the questionnaires were filled out by Malaysians and 58% by non-Malaysian. Among them 55% are filled by males and 45% are females.

 

Food (Malaysian)

  • 38% of Malaysian indicated tea/coffee break is good. Besides, 54% indicated as moderate and 8% as bad.
  • 62% of Malaysian respondents said lunch is good, 31% said moderate and 7% said it is bad
  • 77% of respondents indicated dinner at Eden is good and 23% indicated as moderate.
  • 69% of Malaysian said dinner at Hainan is good and 31% indicated as moderate.

 

Food (non-Malaysian)

  • 83% of non-Malaysian indicated tea/coffee break is good. Besides, 17% indicated as moderate.
  • 89% of non-Malaysian respondents said lunch is good, 11% said moderate.
  • 94% of respondents indicated dinner at Eden is good and 6% indicated as moderate.
  • 72% of non-Malaysian respondents said dinner at Hainan is good and 28% indicated as moderate.

 

Accommodation

  • 38% of Malaysian respondents indicated the accommodation is good and 62% said moderate.
  • 78% of non-Malaysian respondents indicated the accommodation is good and 22% indicated as moderate.

 

Conference hall

  • 31% of Malaysian respondents said the conference hall is good and 69% said moderate.
  • 72% of non-Malaysian respondents said the conference hall is good and 22% indicated as moderate and 6% said it is bad.

 

Hospitality

  • 46% of Malaysian respondents said the hospitality is good and 54% said moderate.
  • 83% of non-Malaysian respondents said the hospitality is good and 17% indicated as moderate.

 

Transportation

  • 38% of Malaysian respondents indicated the transportation is good and 62% said moderate.
  • 89% of non-Malaysian respondents said the transportation is good and 11% indicated as moderate.

 

Cleanliness

  • 62% of Malaysian respondents indicated the cleanliness is good level during the conference and 38% said it is in moderate.
  • 89% of non-Malaysian respondents said the cleanliness is good and 11% indicated as moderate.

 

Punctuality

  • 100% of Malaysian respondents indicated the punctuality is good.
  • 89% of non-Malaysian respondents said the punctuality is good and 11% indicated as moderate.

 

Tour

  • 15% of Malaysian respondents indicated the tour is fun, 76% indicated as informative and 9% indicated as boring.
  • 61% of non-Malaysian respondents said the tour is fun, 33% indicated as informative and 6% indicated as boring.

 

Duration

  • 3% of all respondents indicated the duration is too long, 10% of them indicated as too short and 87% of them indicated the duration is just right.
  • 42% of all respondents said that the conference should extend to more than 3 days and 58% of the respondents think otherwise.

  • 15% of Malaysian respondents indicated that they need special needs that we should take into consideration. Besides 85% of Malaysian, and 100% of non-Malaysian indicated otherwise.
  • All the respondents indicated that the ICBP 2009 has benefited the participants.
  • 77% of the Malaysian respondents and all the non-Malaysian respondents think that the efforts taken by organizing ICBP 2009 towards "Creating a sustainable tomorrow" made a difference. 23% of Malaysian respondents think otherwise.
  • 97% of all respondents believe that the ICBP 2009 did meet their expectations and 3% think otherwise.

 

Annex

Of the 31 questionnaires that were collected, 42% of the questionnaires were filled out by Malaysian and 58% by non-Malaysian. Among them 55% are filled by males and 45% are females. (See chart 1)

97% of all respondents believe that the ICBP 2009 did meet their expectations and 3% think otherwise. (See chart 2)

Respondents were asked to give the Public Forum a score on a scale of 1 - 5 (where 1 is low and 5 is high) on three questions. The overwhelming majority of ratings were 4 or 5. (See charts 3-5).

Comments provided by participants

  1. The conference contents should be covered with more versatile topics of biopolymers (Non-Malaysian).
  2. May consider allowing the participants to purchase some souveniers during the tour (Malaysian).
  3. The time allocated for each speakers is insufficient (Malaysian).
  4. A more comfortable hall should be chosen for the upcoming conferences (Malaysian).
